I spent a fun hour at the Ukiyoe museum in Osaka doing some woodblock printing.
I made a reservation for the experience online a few days before we wanted to go, I got an email back pretty quickly confirming our appointment.
You have to pay entry to the museum on top of the charge for printing (500yen each) and so we looked at the prints before hand.
The museum is pretty small and only took about 20 minutes to look around everything.
We gave our names to the lovely ladies at reception and they started to set up the woodblock printing area on the top floor.
The lady helped me paint the blocks and press the paper into it, one block for each colour.
Finished! Yay. I like the end result and would like to frame them to keep, the ladies kept saying mine was great and to J they said oh well never mind, revenge next time! Haha. So maybe we will do the intermediate course before we leave Japan.
The same day I made this post I went to Uniqlo and saw..
