The plum blossom has started to bloom these last few weeks, most of it isnt even in full bloom yet…but I did manage to get a few nice pictures from Osaka Castle park, Expo 70 Park and Kitano Tenmangu Shrine Kyoto.

Osaka Castle Park 16.2.15

It looked quite bare but if you looked closely the odd tree was in bloom.

Kitano Tenmangu Shrine, Kyoto 23.2.15

Entrance to the plum blossom area costs 600yen and includes a special tea and cracker set, although there are some trees in bloom in the shrine and it is free to view those.

View while drinking the tea.

Would look spectacular when the trees are all in full bloom.

The rest are from inside the shrine, aka the free area.

Lots of trees had these small green birds flitting around in them.

Still plenty of time to visit here and view the blossom, if you are quick there is a special event on the 25th February http://kitanotenmangu.or.jp/
