Kyoto: Wedding Anniversary

J and I got married on Christmas Eve in Kyoto 2009, 5 years ago! Since we lived in Osaka we have made it a tradition to go back to the shrine we got married at and pray.

This year we went a little earlier than usual as we couldn’t be together for our anniversary or Christmas.

We had a full day out in Kyoto to celebrate a week before our anniversary.

First we visited the shrine we got married at, it was actually quite busy for a change.

Im hiding on the bridge.

2015 will be year of the sheep.

We bought some lucky charms and prayed, then took some photos that tried to recreate our wedding pics. Although we forgot the tripod so it was a little difficult.

We asked a passer by to take this, he did but it was like he’d never used a camera before in his life.

Couldnt find anyone to help take this one, so just took seperate (its meant to be like the picture at the beginning).

After taking a million pictures we took the bus back to central Kyoto, did some shopping and took purikura.

The 6% Dokidoki Christmas tree.

After we were all shopped out we ate a special steak dinner at Inayoshi.

We got an anniversary sweets plate and free champagne!

We saw Kyoto Tower and visited the massive Christmas tree in Kyoto JR station.

Before going home to do Christmas karaoke!

Then we fell into bed exhausted. Yay. Visting ‘our’ shrine always makes me happy, Im glad we could go again this year even if it was a bit early. Happy 5 years J, thanks for putting up with me!
