This weekend was my last as a Yorkshire resident as I am moving back to Lancashire.
We had a farewell dinner with some friends and as I had spent the whole week emptying, sorting, cleaning and painting the house I decided to dress myself happy.
JSK – Baby the stars shine bright ‘Honey tea salon’
Blouse – Metamorphose ‘sheer frill blouse’
We had a terrible time getting a table anywhere and ended up at Pizza Express but the food was delicious (Melanzane Parmigiana) and the company delightful.
Today was my first day at my new job, I survived the 6am wake up call but only just. Ask me again at the end of the week how it’s going!!
I tried sake once or twice in the UK but never really liked it. It wasn’t until my wedding where we had to drink lots of sake I finally got a taste for it.
For Christmas this year my mother in law got us a huge Japanese food parcel, containing ramen, sweets, teas, beers and SAKE!
Hana-awaka ozeki sake is so pretty, it’s fizzy like champagne and tastes like very sweet pears.
I cant wait to buy some more to enjoy on a summery picnic.
Today the mother in law headed home and J and I finally had some time alone.
We headed into town and swung by Little Tokyo for some dinner. It was my third visit here (once for my hen party and last month with a girlfriend) but Js first.
We had dim sum sui mai for starters.
I went for a chicken teriyaki bento for main :)
We drank several bottles of Sapporo
and finished with matcha ice cream served in an ice bowl!
When I went to the bathroom I noticed I’d dropped some soy sauced rice on my dress :O thank goodness for Marks and Spencer’s travel stain removing wipes!
